Quebec, French province of Canada has made some amendments for students to qualify for Permanent Residence. Experience Quebec Program (PEQ).
Considering Canada has an overwhelming response to immigration; PEQ was set up in 2010 to hasten the process. This program works for the permanent residence of students and workers already there. Students based in Quebec have to work for more hours as compared to their last eligibility criteria for PR.
Here are the modified and updated eligibility criteria for students in Quebec;
- Students with degree/diploma from universities in Quebec will require 12 months of work experience in NOC, national occupation classification, codes O, A, and B.
- Students with C level jobs can only be eligible if their work experience is related to their program of study, can include a mandatory internship in a program of study of a minimum of three months.
The changes have come into effect since July 2020.
